Privacy Policy

At Storyloved, we believe reading is personal. The books you love, the memories you make, and the shelves you create are part of your story. We respect that.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Storyloved collects, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

Storyloved is an independently operated reading platform. In this policy, Storyloved, we, us, and our refer to the operator of the Storyloved website and application.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, name, username, and information necessary to authenticate your account. Authentication is managed through Base44, which supports email/password and Google sign-in. We store your confirmation that you are at least 18 years old, including the date and time of confirmation. We do not collect your date of birth for this purpose.

Reading information: We store books you want to read, are reading, have finished, or did not finish; shelves, collections and visibility settings; ratings, reading dates, sessions and rereads; Reading Memories, notes and reflections; preferences, tropes, moods, insights and saved collections.

Profile and community information: We may collect profile details, public shelves, recommendations, nominations, and other information you choose to share.

Technical information: Our hosting provider and external services may process IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, diagnostics and service logs.

We use personal information to create and manage accounts; organize libraries and reading history; save memories; provide reading insights and discovery; support optional community participation; respond to support requests; maintain security and performance; process privacy requests; and meet applicable legal obligations.

Storyloved's current Reading Memories feature does not send journal entries to an artificial intelligence model for analysis. Private Reading Memories are stored within your account and protected by account-based access controls. We do not intentionally publish private Reading Memories or make them available to other readers.

Storyloved allows readers to keep certain information private or choose to share it. Depending on your settings, others may view public profile information, public shelves, shared recommendations and community contributions. Private reading records are protected by account-based access controls. Public content may be visible to readers and visitors. Avoid including sensitive personal information in public content.

Base44 provides hosting, authentication, database, backend functionality and file storage.

Google Books and Open Library provide book searches, metadata, editions and cover information. Search terms, titles, authors and related requests may be sent to them, sometimes directly from your browser.

Book-cover and image providers, including Open Library and external image services, deliver images directly to browsers. Google Fonts supplies typography.

When your browser connects directly to external providers, they may receive your IP address, browser information and referrer information.

Storyloved does not intentionally send private journal entries, account identifiers or personal reading histories to external book-search services. External providers have their own privacy practices.

Storyloved uses browser storage and limited cookies for functionality and preferences. Base44 stores authentication information in browser local storage. Local and session storage also hold interface preferences and temporary navigation state. A first-party cookie remembers sidebar state. Our hosting provider may use additional session technologies. No third-party advertising pixels or advertising analytics integrations are currently installed in the application.

Base44 provides built-in analytics including visits, visitor counts, traffic sources, country, browser, device and related usage information. Its documentation indicates approximately 60 days of retention.

Storyloved has disabled Base44's optional session recording feature in its application settings. We do not intentionally use session replay to monitor readers. Previously collected recordings may remain until deleted or until the documented 30-day retention period expires.

We do not currently use separate Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or third-party advertising tracking tools in the application.

Storyloved uses authentication, application access controls and hosting infrastructure designed to protect personal information. Private reading records are restricted according to ownership and visibility settings. No online service can guarantee complete security.

We generally retain account and reading information while accounts remain active or as needed to provide the service.

Readers can request deletion through Account Settings. An administrator then processes the removal of associated reading records and account access. This is not instantaneous.

After an account deletion request is completed, Storyloved generally retains a limited administrative record for 90 days. This record may include your email address, account identifier, request and completion dates, and information documenting the outcome of the request.

Records may be retained longer when necessary to resolve a dispute, comply with a legal obligation, or satisfy another valid preservation requirement.

Some information may remain in platform backups, recoverable deleted records, diagnostic logs or previously uploaded files. Base44 does not currently provide Storyloved with a supported method to individually remove certain previously uploaded files. Platform logs associated with email addresses may remain outside Storyloved's direct deletion controls. Complete immediate physical erasure cannot be guaranteed.

Readers can manage certain account information, reading records and shelf visibility in Storyloved. Depending on applicable law, readers may have additional access, correction or deletion rights. Account deletion can be requested in Settings. Other privacy questions can be sent to privacy@storyloved.com. Identity verification may be required for certain requests.

Storyloved is intended for people aged 18 and older. New readers must confirm they are at least 18 before accessing the application. This is self-attestation, not independent age verification. Accounts found to belong to minors may be restricted or removed.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices, features or legal requirements change. The current version will appear on our website with an effective date. Additional notice will be provided when required by law.
